ILDA's BuySell mailing list

The ILDA "BuySell" mailing list is for people selling, looking for, buying or trading lasershow-related items that are special. "Special" means one-of-a-kind, going-out-of-business, a sale or promotion, product introduction, or other short-term or unique buying/selling opportunity. This is NOT a place for selling or advertising routine items.

These are some examples of lasershow-related items which can be listed:

Equipment used in laser displays such as lasers, controllers, positioning and support, optics.
Software for creating laser shows; custom programs or scripts
Services such as frames, animations, shows and custom work
Freelance work (hiring and looking-for-work) in creating and producing laser shows

Subscribing and unsubscribing

You must be a subscriber to the BuySell list in order to receive and send messages on the list. Use the form below to subscribe (or to unsubscribe).

This process is automated. After sending your request, you will receive a confirmation email message within a few minutes. Reply to this email message to confirm and complete your subscription request.

How to use the list

It helps if your message is short, and if it has a link to a webpage or other method for people to see details, photos etc. regarding the items being discussed. This way, those who are not interested can simply ignore the link.

To post an email message to the BuySell list, send it to:

Note that you MUST send from the same email account you subscribed from. To prevent spam, the BuySell list automatically rejects email that does not come from a known (subscribed) email address.

If you want to reply to a message, usually you would email directly to the original sender. This is usually done by clicking the "Reply" button. However, double-check to be sure that your message is going to the correct place (either the original sender, or to the entire BuySell list).

Once you have completed the transaction, it is polite to post a message to the list stating "I have sold the laser I advertised last week" or "I found the equipment I needed, thanks". This lets others on the list know not to waste their time, once the deal is completed.

ILDA has two other lists; the ILDA List for ILDA business and the Laserist List for general lasershow business. The BuySell list works the same way, except that anyone can use the form above to subscribe or unsubscribe (the other lists require ILDA to put you on the ILDA List or Laserist List).

So, if you want to find out details such as what error messages mean, etc., please visit the ILDA mailing list page. Remember that the address for the BuySell list always starts with "buysell" instead of "ilda-list" or "laserist-list".

Terms of service / In case of abuse

ILDA runs the BuySell list as a service to our Members and to the laser display community. As stated above, it is intended for occasional sales of special items. We expect polite and ethical behavior.

There is no right for anyone, ILDA Member or non-member, to subscribe to this list. Therefore, ILDA retains the right to remove anyone from the list at our discretion. (Usually there would be a private warning first, to explain what we found objectionable and how to fix the situation.)
