What's new in the field of lasers
used for light shows in clubs, installations, concerts and large-scale
events? Discover how new technologies have improved equipment from
low-end beam systems, to the most accurate laser graphics displays. Find
out what systems you can buy and install yourself, and when it is best
to hire a specialist laser show producer. If you have considered adding
the excitement of laser beams and graphics, this overview is for you.

Laser Safety and
Audience Scanning
Saturday, November 17, 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Explore the basic concepts of how to keep laser shows safe and comfortable for the audience. What permits and equipment are required for various installations and events. And, you won't want to miss the premiere demonstration of the first system permitted by the U.S. government to do European-style laser beams directly into the audience.

Caution for event producers: Any time you contract for a U.S.-based laser show, be sure the laser company has an FDA variance (permit). If audience scanning will be used, the variance must specifically allow audience scanning under FDA-specified conditions. At LDI, we will be demonstrating new technologies which allow a much wider variety of safe, legal, FDA-approved audience scanning effects. |

Since 2000, laser equipment has improved dramatically. Small plug-in-the-wall lasers are replacing the huge water-cooled, 240-volt lasers previously needed. While green still gives the most "bang for the buck", full-color systems are increasingly common. More and more projectors have DMX interfaces, making it easy to control them live or in automated modes. Find out about these improvements and talk to the experts on how to incorporate lasers into your future.
