ILDA Laser Theater --
Technical requirements
ILDA will produce a Laser Theater for the benefit of LDI attendees at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, during LDI and IAAPA. The theater will operate daily from 10 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday, and until show closing on Sunday at 4 pm.
Sponsoring Producers for the room are Tom Harman of LaserNet and Greg Makhov of LSDI. ILDA is looking for volunteers to help setup, run, and teardown the room; if you can help, please contact Patrick Murphy.

Laser system
The laser system will consist of at least four laser projectors to provide graphics, beams, and audience scanning atmospheric effects. All projectors will be controlled by Showtime. The Pangolin systems will also source the audio to the sound reinforcement system, and may provide DMX control for room lighting.
PLAYBACK NOTE: For maximum efficiency, we will record laser signals from non-Pangoin systems, onto Showtime. For most systems, there is no visual or artistic difference between digital signal recording in this way, and direct output from the source system. If an ILDA Member feels their laser playback system has special requirements, we will work to accomodate these requests. The Member may need to provide a playback system and an operator.
Audience scanning
Audience scanning shows are permitted.
Because we are using an FDA/CDRH approved system for audience scanning,
ILDA Members may submit these types of shows. However, due to the
FDA/CDRH requirements, beam power and brightness in the audience area
may be dimmer than shows done outside the U.S.
Room configuration
Due to the small size of the room, and the need for restricted areas for audience scanning, graphics will be front projected on a screen at one end of the room. Beam projectors will be located on either side of the screen, slaved together with mirror image operation. The atmospheric/audience scanning projector will be located on a truss above the screen.
