ILDA Laser Theater at LDI 2007

The ILDA Laser Theater is a professional, corporate-style show, demonstrating the best in lasers and shows from ILDA Members. Not only will ILDA demonstrate the current state of laser projectors, but we will be also demonstrating the ease of use, low maintenance and overall professional appearance that our industry now enjoys.

Overview

The ILDA Laser Theater will be held in a meeting room just outside the main exhibition floor. It is open all three exhibit days, November 16-18, during the main hall hours. You can get free admission for ILDA Members, employees and customers/clients. Visitors to the Laser Theater will receive a printed program with ILDA's Membership Directory plus paid display ads from Members. They will see various presentations, including

• A "best of" compilation of ILDA Award winners

• A demonstration of FDA/CDRH approved safe audience scanning

• Short Sponsored Presentations from ILDA Members

• A "thank you" show of sponsor logos and 15-second IDs

• Three seminars on laser topics, organized and run by ILDA

The theater will be using only state-of-the-art air-cooled diode laser projectors with CTI 6210 scanning systems. Each projector's power will be at least 2 watts. Lighting, sound, hazers, and remote bounce mirrors will also be utilized in the theater. For discussion of the Laser Theater technical requirements, click here.

There will be a sponsored cash bar, as well as hands-on displays of lasers, projectors and related equipment. There are a number of sponsorship and participation opportunities at LDI.

Membership directory/program

A printed program will be handed out to everyone who comes to the Laser Theater (and to the ILDA booth on the exhibit floor). It will list all current (2007) ILDA Members, with highlighted and expanded listings for companies that help sponsor ILDA at LDI. Also, ILDA Members can purchase display ads in the program.
 

ILDA-run presentations

"Best of" ILDA Awards show

This is tentatively planned to be 10 minutes long, shown frequently throughout the day. Clips from past ILDA Award winners are shown. This will be mostly in laser -- both beams and graphics. There is a possibility of having some video demos of large and outdoor shows.

If you have won an ILDA Award and would like to have your work shown in laser, please contact ILDA as soon as possible. This will give us time to work out the technical and artistic requirements.

NOTE: We cannot guarantee that any specific ILDA Award winner will be shown, or that it will be shown in full. The Laser Theater producers are trying to show the many facets of lasers, so they will use their best judgment in putting together the presentation.

Member-sponsored presentations

ILDA Member companies can present Sponsored Presentations, where their work is shown. These are up to 10 minutes in length. A prearranged time will be assigned for that segment and it will be listed in the program.

The theater will also display, several times a day, a sponsor’s loop show. All sponsors’ logos will be in this laser display show.

Audience scanning demonstration

Having laser beams go into the audience is common in most countries. But for various reasons it has not been widely permitted in the U.S. Last year, for the first time the U.S. FDA/CDRH approved a system for international-style audience scanning. ILDA will present, for the first time to a large professional audience in the U.S., safe international-style audience scanning shows.

Audience scanning is an impressive and vital part of international shows. U.S.-based lighting designers will now have the ability to bring this dazzling, unique effect to their clients' productions -- legally, under approved FDA/CDRH variances which include audience scanning provisions.
