Overview: ILDA at LDI 2007

Lighting Dimensions International (LDI) is the largest U.S. tradeshow and conference focused on technologies for the live entertainment industry. Professionals in lighting, audio, special effects, lasers, projection and staging attend the annual event, scheduled for November 12-18 in Orlando.
     In addition, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) will be having its exhibition at the same time and location. This means that IAAPA attendees will be visiting the LDI show, and vice versa.
     Admission to the exhibit hall (open November 16-18) is free for ILDA Members, employees, and customers/clients, if you register by October 12. Click here for free admission information.
 

ILDA participation in LDI 2007

ILDA will participate in LDI in four major ways:

The ILDA Booth: LDI has provided us with a booth on the exhibition floor. This will be used to publicize laser shows and our members. It also is there to direct people to the ILDA Laser Theater.
     The ILDA Booth is sponsored by Lightwave International.

The ILDA Laser Theater: Award-winning laser shows, and ILDA Member-sponsored shows are the highlight of the ILDA Laser Theater. This takes place Nov. 16-18 in a separate meeting room, located near the main exhibition floor.
     The goal of the Laser Theater is to reinforce laser displays as an extra-special lighting effect that has gotten easier to use and more impressive over the past few years. A highlight will be the U.S. introduction of safe, federally approved international-style audience scanning shows. If you have never experienced legal direct laser scanning, you are in for a treat -- it is like being inside a fireworks display!
     The Gold Sponsor for the ILDA Laser Theater is Lightwave International. The show is being produced by local ILDA Members LaserNet, LSDI and Pangolin. Other sponsors include Neo-Neon Lasers (Silver) and LaserNet (Cash Bar).

Seminars: ILDA will produce three LDI seminars, where LDI and IAAPA attendees can learn more about laser display capabilities.

Mid-Year Membership Meeting: This is for ILDA Members only. It will be less formal than the Annual Conference but there still will be discussions of topics and issues important to members. We will also host a reception for Members.
 

How ILDA Members can benefit from LDI 2007

There are a number of ways that ILDA Members, both large and small, can benefit from LDI. For more information, click on the highlighted text.

At the ILDA Booth, and on the LDI trade show floor

• A listing of all ILDA Members will be handed out to LDI/IAAPA attendees. ILDA Members get a free listing, plus you can advertise in the program, for additional exposure.

• ILDA will distribute your literature for you, as part of a "laser information packet" given to attendees. (The cost is $1 per item distributed. See details here.)

• We encourage interested Members to exhibit in your own booth. For more information, contact LDI.

• You can distribute drink coupons for your customers, staff, etc. These are good at the Laser Theater cash bar, open each afternoon.

At the ILDA Laser Theater

Have your laser shows presented to the LDI Attendees:

• If you previously won an ILDA Award, there is a chance that your show would be picked as part of the ILDA Laser Theater presentation. There is no charge for this presentation.

• To make sure your shows are seen, you can pay for a Sponsored Presentation. There are approximately 15 different slots, where you can show up to 10 minutes of material.

Sponsor the Laser Theater:

• You can become a Silver or Bronze sponsor of the Laser Theater. This sponsorship actually saves you money compared to buying Sponsored Presentations, program advertising, etc. separately. Your company's name and logo will be displayed as a supporter of ILDA and the laser industry.

Help with the Laser Theater, so ILDA can make a great impression:

• You can help by donating sound and lighitng production equipment. These donations will be publicly recognized.

• You can help with setup, staffing, and teardown. This volunteer work is a great way to meet the LDI/IAAPA attendees, and others in ILDA. Volunteers will be publicly recognized.

ILDA-produced seminars

• You can be a speaker/presenter at one of the three ILDA seminars.

Mid-year membership meeting

• All ILDA Members attending LDI/IAAPA will be able to attend a mid-year membership meeting. This will include a reception for ILDA Members.

• At the mid-year membership meeting, you can present a seminar topic intended primarily for ILDA Members (i.e., detailed technical, artistic or safety topics for laserists, that are too "in-depth" for the average LDI/IAAPA attendee)
