Become a member

Membership in ILDA is open to companies, organizations and individuals who manufacture or use laser display devices or services. Members must affirm their commitment to safe laser shows, and to ILDA's Code of Ethics.

There are three ways to apply for a new membership, or renew your existing membership:

• Apply online -- use our Online Store. This is described at the bottom of this page.
• Apply by fax -- download a form and fax to ILDA (click for fax number)
• Apply by phone -- call ILDA's Executive Director (click for phone number)

Payment methods: You can pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, wire transfer, or checks written on a U.S. bank. We can invoice you in advance, or you can simply send payment and we send a receipt as soon as your payment is processed. Membership does not start until the payment is received and processed.

ILDA Membership categories

ILDA has four categories of Membership: Corporate, Nonprofit, Individual and Student.

Use the Online Store, fax or call to become a Member

Now that you know your Membership category, you are ready to become an ILDA Member! Use the Online Store (instructions below) or download the fax form. You can also call ILDA's Executive Director, and we can take your information right over the phone.
 
 

Using the Online Store

You can create an account and shop for ILDA dues from our Membership Management website. There are two main steps: Registering you and your organization in ILDA's database, and then selecting and paying for your Membership.

Registering you and your organization

To begin, go to this page. The system will ask you to log in:

Since you are new to ILDA, you don't yet have an account. So click the underlined words "New Visitor Registration". You will first be taken to the "Verify Registration Status" page:

Here you will be asked for an email address. Usually, this is your public corporate email address -- it will be listed in our Membership Directory. Enter the email address and click "Go".

Register yourself

Next you will go to the "New Visitor Registration" page:

All you need to enter is your First Name, Last Name, desired Password, and Password Confirmation. This creates a record for you as an individual. Click on the button "Create Account & Enter Your Organization Info" (at the very bottom) to continue.

Now the "Select Your Organization" page comes up.

To enter a new organization (ILDA Member), select "NOT LISTED HERE" and then the "Continue" button. You will go to the "Add Organization Information" page:

Tips for registering your organization (ILDA Member)

• If you are joining as an Individual or Student Member, your Organization Name (ILDA Member name) should be your name -- last name first. For example, a person named Bob Smith would enter an Organization Name of Smith, Bob.
• You only need to fill out the first business address information section. You don't need to fill out the Billing Address unless it is different from the main business address.
• Under Contact Information, we need a main phone number. All other numbers are optional (if you want to keep them private, such as a mobile phone, don't enter them).
• We ask that you enter your web site address, if you have a site. Enter the full URL, including http:// at the start.

When you are finished, click "Save Organization". You are now in ILDA's database. You will see the My Information page:

Selecting and paying for your Membership

Next you will pay for your dues, in order to become a Member.

Click on the "Online Store (dues etc.)" menu on the left side. You will see this screen:

It is VERY important that you click on the drop-down box, and choose the bottom item in the list. This tells the system that you are shopping for an organization (ILDA Membership) and not for yourself personally.

Be sure the ILDA Membership (bottom item) is selected, then click the "Go to Shopping" button. You will see the Online Store page:

Select your desired Membership category. You will be taken to a page that describes that category in more detail:

If this is the correct membership for you, click the "Add To Cart" button. (If instead you want to go back and continue shopping, click the "Continue Shopping" button.)

You will then see your shopping cart. It should have just the one dues item in it:

Click the "Check Out" button to finalize your purchase. From this point, the system works like a typical online store. You will be asked for payment:

• Credit card: This is fastest and easiest both for your and for ILDA.
• Purchase order: This will take longer to process. Only do this if your company requires purchase orders.
• Wire transfer, check, cash or other payment method: These are not supported by the Online Store. If you must use one of these methods, please contact ILDA for further instructions. (You can leave the item in the shopping cart. We can check out for you once your payment is received.)

After paying, you will get a receipt page, plus an emailed receipt.

One of the benefits of membership is access to the ILDA Members-Only pages, at this website (the one you are reading now). To find out how to access these pages, click on the "Members-Only pages" menu:

Once we receive notice of your joining, we will manually add you to the ILDA List and Laserist List.
