UK Laws

This being the international laser association has me stumped a little as there is so much coverage of the goings on in America. Myself I am from the UK an doing some research into lasers, however one thing which I can't seem to get any definitive details about are the laws here in the UK governing private/public use.

Does anybody have any info on that?
