I've got a small show running daily at the LBJ Library and Museum, 2313 Red River, Autin, TX 78705 on the university of Texas campus. The museum is open daily 9 AM - 5 PM and I believe it is free admission; shows run every twenty minutes starting at 9:40 AM to 4:20 PM. This is the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidential library, so there are a lot of exhibits; our show is part of the exhibit "To the Moon", about the space race to the moon in the 60's.

It is totally optical laser effects like lumia wheels and diffraction gratings, no graphics, beams, or smoke used. Very different! :D

Is it showing on the weekends as well? I live in Austin so I would like to check it out when I have time!

I saw it today. It's amazing the excitement you were able to create in such a small room. When they told us about it, we were puzzled as to what a laser show had to do with President Johnson. You did a great job combining the laser with dialog, music, and visual images to show the zeitgeist of the mid-60s.

After the show, my friend, who had recently been at the Reagan Presidential Library was shouting out, "Best presidential library - ever!"

Maybe I'll go again. After all, it's completely free :p

Millions of laser dots = Blisslights! I used two DMX controlled Blisslight - 50.

That's cool. I looked them up and they are certainly expensive. Is there a way to make one with some kind of optic thingy? I would like one just for goofing around at home so can't justify dropping a grand.

Good news - you don't have to make one! What you want to get is called "LaserStar" or "LaserStars" - it should be under $150 many places on the web. NewAje sells them, I think. It is the same effect as Blisslight only plastic, and not as wide an angle; it even has the blue LED wave effect. See the review in the last Laserist magazine from Sept. 08.
