So I do a lot of live band light shows. And I'm looking to get a RBG laser around 250mW. I'd like to spend around $3000 if possible. Anyone reccomend some companies making lasers around that price? Or just some good laser companies in general. I've tried DJTraximus, but they don't ever seem to get back to you with questions.
Thanks in advance
Aaron

250mw is going to be rather weak for an RGB laser.
Usually most people recommend a minimum of 500mw for RGB to allow for the fact that the figure includes all the total of all 3 seperate beams and that red and blue appear much weaker than green, so balance is something usually like 200mw each for Red and Blue and 100mwfor green.
A 250mw is going to give you something like 50mw green and 100mw for each of red and blue - I fear that the red and blue may look very weak except in a pitch black (no other lighting) smoke filled room.
Your budget might be a little low for a 500mw though. Your alternative would be an RGY.
This one is 400mw RGB for around your budget and 35K scanners however its a TTL type:

(I haven't tried this laser so can't comment on its performance).
Alternatively this looks like a nicely specced RGY (350mw, 45K scanners) although again I haven't seen its performance. It doesn't state the balance but I'd gues around 250mw red and 100mw green or thereabouts:

Oops just noticed this is a very old thread - not trawling! Hopefully this may assist someone though.

I would recommend contacting Sam at SpaceLas. I recently purchased a 1.5W RGB unit from them and it is outstanding. I paid right around your budget amount and couldn't be happier. The diodes are all CNI and the build quality is excellent.
You will have to do T/T transfer with them, but I can vouch for them.

I also have two of their 200mw green projectors and those are excellent as well. Feel free to PM me if you have further questions as I don't want this thread to turn into an ad. I have been where you are, however, and got burned a couple of times before finding a vendor I fully trust.

Really? $3000 for a 1.5W RGB scanning projector?
I looked at his site, I have seen these units from other vendors. Who is really building them?

I am convinced SpaceLas really is the manufacturer.
