ILDA Conference overview


	At the 2003 ILDA Conference in Brussels, master of ceremonies Steve Heminover presents an ILDA Award to Jim Hardaway.

Since 1987, one of the highlights of ILDA has been the annual Conference. It is open to both ILDA Members and to non-members; however, non-members do pay more for registration.

The ILDA Conference includes the Advanced Technology Workshop, an informal showing of laser works called the "Lase-Off", the ILDA Awards presentation (pictured at right), the ILDA Trade Show, a business meeting, and seminar-type sessions that may be of interest to Members.

There is a registration fee for the Conference. In recent years the fee for ILDA Members has been between USD $150 and $700, depending on what facilities ILDA needs to rent. ILDA registration typically includes two meals, the Lase-Off and Banquet, plus attendance at all ILDA functions. Note that hotel room and other meals are separate.

Click here for a list of previous ILDA conference locations. ILDA tries to get a mix between Europe, North America, and "other". For example, the 2006 location was Rimini, Italy; the 2007 meeting was in China near Hong Kong, the 2008 and 2010 locations were both a Caribbean cruise leaving from Miami, Florida, the 2009 location was near Amsterdam, Netherlands, and the 2011 location is Moscow, Russia.

What it takes to host an ILDA Conference

Sample proposals and contract

If you are interested in hosting, ILDA has samples from the 2007 proposal process. This page has a summary of the three 2007 proposals, side-by-side. It shows some of the factors which are considered when making a hosting decision. A contract is required between the host company and ILDA. A sample contract is here, to give an idea of how responsibilities are shared.
