2011 ILDA
Conference overview Dr. Alexander Timofeyev of Orion-Art Multimedia is pleased to invite you to Moscow, one of the world's great capitals, for the 2011 ILDA Conference, 10-13 November! Who may attend Both Members and non-members may register for the Conference (note that the ILDA General Business Meeting is only for Members). There are some events such as the ILDA Awards and the Lase-Off which are also open to spouses and guests. Registration details are below.
The Conference location is the brand new Radisson Blu Belorusskaya Hotel (opening June 2011). Hotel registration is separate from ILDA Conference registration; contact the hotel directly for rooms for the nights of 10, 11, 12 and 13 November. IMPORTANT: ILDA has negotiated a special price of approx. USD $150 or about 105 Euros for our rooms. You must state that you are attending the ILDA Conference, and use the code "ILDA09", to get this rate. We strongly suggest that you call or email directly with the hotel rather than use their standard web reservation forms. The hotel is a short walk from Belorusskaya metro and train station, and the main commercial thoroughfares Leningradsky and Tverskaya, and is within a five-minute drive to the Kremlin. Rooms and suites provide high-quality amenities, such as free high-speed Internet access. Sip refreshing beverages at Sure Bar and savor Italian fare at Filini Bar & Restaurant. Guests enjoy access to the on-site business centre, fitness center and sauna. ILDA's events will be held in the hotel's meeting rooms, and in the Golden Palace theater across the street. Tverskaya Street is nearby with numerous high-quality restaurants, cultural entertainment and nightlife areas, as well as the business district. ILDA Member Full Conference Registration includes all lunches and dinners, Welcome Reception, Lase-Off, Awards Banquet, General Business Meeting, seminars and workshops, tradeshow, and Closing River Cruise. For Non-member Full Conference Registration, add $250 to the above rates. Non-members may attend all events except the General Business Meeting, which is only for Members. Spouse/Guest Registration is $495. This includes all lunches and dinners, the Welcome Reception, the Lase-Off, the Awards Banquet and the Closing River Cruise. It does NOT include the General Business Meeting, the seminars and workshops, and the tradeshow. (A spouse/guest is defined as someone staying in the room of a person who has registered for the full Conference.) Single event pricing Some guests or local residents may prefer to attend single events. To register for these, contact ILDA directly (single-event registration is not available online).

Airlines serving SVO include Air China (from Beijing), Alitalia (from Milan, Rome and Turin), Delta (from Atlanta and New York), KLM (from Amsterdam), and of course Aeroflot (from dozens of cities including Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Los Angeles, Milan, Munich, New York, Paris, Tehran, Tokyo, and Washington). Incidentally, SVO Terminal 2 is featured in the movie "The Bourne Supremacy". The two other major Moscow airports are Domodedovo International Airport (DME) and Vnukovo (VKO). IMPORTANT: Apply early for travel visas
The Radisson Blu will provide hotel guests with tourist visa support. Download the Visa Support Request Form, fill it out, and send it back to the hotel with supporting documents (credit card scan and copy of your passport). There is no cost for this service; however, if you cancel the reservation or otherwise are a no-show, they will charge your credit card RUB 3000 (about USD $106 or EUR €76).
You may want to check Internet sites such as this one for detailed visa requirements. There are many third-party services which can help you through the visa process, for an additional fee of course.

Jockey Performances and Judging -- Anyone who wants to enter the
2011 ILDA Awards "Laser Jockey" category will perform live to music.
Everyone in attendance will vote for their favorite. Winners in this
category will be announced the next night at the ILDA Awards Banquet
and Presentation.

The most convenient
international airport is Sheremetyevo (SVO). A direct Aeroexpress train
is a 35-minute, non-stop ride to the Belorusskaya Train Station
which is a two-minute walk to the Radisson Blu hotel.
All foreign nationals are required to
have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation. Russian entry
visas can be obtained at local Russian
