Advertising in The Laserist:
 
Banner Ads  

Banner ads are purchased under a three-month site-wide plan, with your 468 x 60 pixel banner appearing at the top of every page in laserist.org/Laserist (over 75 pages and growing). Because several advertisers have requested this premier placement, banners are rotated on a random basis. In April of 2005, our three banner advertisers each had their banners exposed about 2,600 times. For a three-month period, this would translate to about 7,800 exposures for each of the three banner advertisers.

Banner advertisers also receive two extra benefits: they are given one bonus listing in the category of their choosing in the site's Marketplace section, and each of their listings in Marketplace can be accented by a 100x100 pixel graphic image.

Fees for Banner Ads

Fees for a three-month site-wide banner will vary depending on the number of advertisers who sign up, according to the following schedule:

1-3 advertisers: $599 per advertiser for three months
4 advertisers: $499 per advertiser for three months
5 advertisers: $399 per advertiser for three months

Banner advertisers also get two free listings in the Marketplace section, complete with a 100 x 100 pixel graphic.


Box Ads: Placement and Exposure

Box ads can appear on the Laserist home page [Size is 200 (w) x 190 (h) pixels] or on an inside page [size 150 (w) x 160 (h) pixels]. You will get more exposure on the home page--about 3,000 exposures for the three-month period covered. Box ads on the home page will run underneath the table of contents on the right-hand side.

Box ads in inside pages will appear in the far right-hand column of the web pages or inside a story of your choosing, a. A major advantage of box ads is that they can be placed exactly where you want them. For example, if your company's new product is mentioned in Tech Focus and Marketplace, you can place a box ad directly next to the text or inside the story's text. Exposure will vary on the inside pages, but just two ads could gain over 1,500 monthly exposures with the proper selection of pages.

Laserist Home Page: $195
Inside Page: $129
Two Inside Ads: $199

Each box ad includes one free listing in the Marketplace section of the Website (including 100 x 100 pixel graphic).


Marketplace Listings

Market place listings are $59 each. A listing with your 100 x100 pixel graphic is $69. There is a word limit of 60 words for Marketplace listings. All buyers of banner ads and box ads get one free Marketplace listing with graphic.
